Barefoot worked in partnership with The National Trust for over three years to create better links between local schools and the local stately home, Saltram House, in Plympton.
Hele's School and Lipson Community College held regular art sessions at the house taking inspiration from the beautiful surroundings and vast heritage.
The two schools worked closely together on photography and life drawing, using the Saltram environment and their own facilities to develop new creative skills and concepts. Summer events celebrated the work created by the young people. The project has also paved the way for other schools to use Saltram House for arts activities and led to Saltram hosting the 2009 and 2010 Plym Youth Fests.
