![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Children and parents from six schools went ‘hands on’ with creative activity on Tuesday November 9th for the Devonport ‘Heroes’ event at Stoke Damerel Community College. 250 children, parents, artists and teachers gathered in Stoke Damerel’s impressive ‘Street’ to enjoy Chinese brush painting, cartoon graffiti, lantern and bunting making and story telling. Our team of artists - who had also worked in the schools prior to the event - encouraged parents and children to paint and make together side by side and story teller Abi Alao captivated a library full of families with an African tale. After an hour of full-on making everyone transferred to the hall for performances from the schools, the packed house enjoying French songs, African Dance, a puppet show and a fantastic street dance mix. ‘Heroes’ was the last Barefoot-managed project funded by DRCPartnership which ends in December after 10 years of support for the arts in Devonport. ![]() ![]() | Project date:
