This event drew together hundreds of children from the Plympton area to perform, watch performance and get ‘hands-on’ with a range of arts activities. After the morning opening of a huge schools’ art exhibition masterminded by Ridgeway school in dozens of Plympton Broadway shops, Boringdon Primary ‘Lion Danced’ their way to Hele’s Schools Sports Dome for the main event. This opened with a performance from each school, including impressive displays of dance, gymnastics and musical theatre.

The massive dome was the perfect venue to host the many activities that then followed, including arts, crafts, circus skills and drumming. Art work created on the day included the ‘big picture’, a collection of smaller pieces by all the children attending which slotted together to form a huge image.

Outside the dome Hele’s school set up their own Raku kiln, in which pots made by each child prior to the event were fired as a lasting souvenir of a great day.
