In partnership with the National Trust, this event took place in a river side meadow in Plymbridge Woods guarded by scarecrows built in schools’ workshops with Stiltskin Theatre Company.

Nearly 150 children from local schools (primary, secondary, nursery and hospital!) had the chance to participate in a wide range of outdoor Arts activities, including environmental art and dream catcher and clay face making. There was a real sense of community, with older pupils from Estover Community College assisting nursery school children and dog-walking passers-by marvelling at the open air creativity. The day concluded with a musical or drama performance from each school. These included extracts from ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and several songs. Despite early rain the weather cleared up to make the day a fantastic success!

“The children engaged brilliantly, I had some lovely conversations about art and the environment, the children were so hands on and actively asking me for feedback - I loved it!”, Artist

'The event provided the children with lots of opportunity to extend their curriculum. It was a valuable experience for them,' Plymbridge Children's Centre
