In 2010 Barefoot had the opportunity to bid for funding from The Transformation Fund – targeting people over 19 who would benefit from new and stimulating opportunities. The Barefoot bid was part of a city-wide project called C-Changes, bringing together a wide range of partners in Plymouth to provide a kaleidoscope of informal learning opportunities for adults aged 19 plus in a variety of venues across the city. Subjects include local history, writing for the stage, art based activities, sports, cooking, DIY, theatre workshops and outdoor activities.

The All Stars Theatre Company, a group of adults with learning difficulties, have been able to enjoy a series of drama workshops led by local drama practitioner Grace Loman.  The group learnt about performance skills, storytelling, music and movement to produce their very own version of ‘The Three Little Pigs’.  All Stars performed their finished piece on Saturday 20th February to an audience at the Wolseley Community Centre. The Transformation Fund grant has also provided much needed sound equipment and the group were invited to perform again at City College on April 22nd as part of the C-Changes celebration event.

The Barefoot team is hoping to secure the All Stars further funding enabling the sessions to evolve into a programme of drama opportunities for adults with learning difficulties.
