The Barefoot team have recently been developing ‘WindScreen’, a project which aims to provide disadvantaged young people with the opportunity to combine creative media and outdoor sport in a positive and encouraging environment. The aim will be to raise aspirations through a fusion of sailing, film making and photography sessions, with the participants working towards the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Arts Award accreditations. Participants will get the opportunity to produce a short documentary film or photographic exhibition and achieve RYA level 2 on the youth sailing scheme. The ten week project will aim to develop teamwork, self belief and motivation and enable the young people to experience something new and exciting, pushing them out of their comfort zone, building confidence and giving them a true sense of achievement.
