Lots of work has been going on behind the scenes to provide activity and support for young people in Ernesettle following the unfortunate demise of the Budshead Trust last year. Barefoot can now proudly announce that it is one of the founder members of SPACE - Strategic Partnership Assisting the Community in Ernesettle - in company with Plymouth YMCA and representatives from Plymouth City Council Youth Service, a partnership that aims to be the focus for work with young people and the wider community.

As actions speak louder than words, SPACE (through the YMCA) has taken on the lease of the former Budshead Trust building in Hornchurch Lane, which re-opens this week as the SPACE Centre, offering weekly youth sessions and activities for young people, including sport, film making and sailing. In association with SPACE, the Theatre Royal Young Company Hub also starts free dance sessions for young people on May 8th at the nearby St Aidan's Church.
