Bigger Footprints to Come!

Funding for the arts (and indeed everything else) has changed because of the economic climate and this will affect the way in which Barefoot - as a small charity - operates in the future. Core funding from Plymouth City Council is a thing of the past and after March 2012 we will also leave behind Arts Council regularly funded organisation status, so we’ve been working hard to diversify both our funding sources and our activities.

As a first step, in March we secured Transition Funding, which has allowed us to dedicate staff time to organisational development. We have also made (and continue to make) applications to a wide variety of trusts and government initiatives to support our work. Alongside this we are developing a range of partnership activities that we expect to provide resourced opportunities for young people and many other groups across the city.
