Ruth Oakley

Ruth Oakley has been working for 12 years as a self-employed community artist.  Specialising in banner making, murals, sculpture, outdoor mazes, colour workshops and ethnic arts, Ruth has previously worked for DAISI, Devon County Council, Schools and Children’s Centres and Museums. Having studied Illustration at the University of Plymouth (UoP), Ruth recently returned to UoP to study Fine Art. 

 

Ruth has experience in running large workshops for all age groups. Her focus, when working with children and young people, is to enable them to make a quality piece of work that is the result of their own efforts and creativity.

Outdoor Pebble Sculpture: Ruth worked with children at Bishopsteignton School to produce a large-scale pebble sculpture in the school grounds

Art in the Parks: Ruth worked in collaboration with Exeter City Council on a Lottery Funded Project creating public art for the parks in Exeter.
